June 22nd, 2011 -- Redd Surveys, Egg Collection, and Fish Releases: Lilliwaup staff began redd surveys in mid-February on the Duckabush and Hamma Hamma River and then in March on the Little Quilcene. In total, 70 redds (steelhead nests) were counted on the Duckabush, 37 redds on the Hamma, the areas where steelhead population rebuilding efforts are or have taken place.

May 14th, 2010 -- Glenwood Springs Hatchery provides sport and commercial fishing opportunities in northern Puget Sound and southern Georgia Strait through its Chinook and coho programs. Marking and tagging these fish is a key operational aspect of Glenwood Hatchery. We began our 2010 marking and tagging season in late April and will continue through mid-May.

February 4th, 2010 -- Glenwood Springs Hatchery Manager Mike O’Connell is helping to provide Orcas Island students and residents firsthand experience with salmon recovery.
