July 5th, 2011 -- LLTK is pleased to announce that Michael Schmidt, Director of Fish Programs, has been selected to be a member of the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife's Hatchery Action Advisory Group.

July 5th, 2011 -- Washington Policy Center (WPC) announced on July 5th that its 2011 Environmental Innovator Award will be awarded to Long Live the Kings (LLTK). Each year WPC gives its Environmental Innovator Award to groups or individuals who have helped promote innovative and effective approaches to environmental sustainability.

June 19th, 2011 -- LLTK was thrilled to co-present a book event with Elliott Bay Bookstores on June 6. Author Paul Greenberg stopped in Seattle as part of a tour for the paperback release of FOUR FISH: The Future of the Last Wild Food, a New York Times and Los Angeles Times bestseller, and one of the New York Times 100 Notable Books of 2010.

June 7th, 2011 -- Right now coastal waters in the Northwest are a'bustle; salmon are running, killer whales are showing up — and so are algae. Sometimes massive blooms of algae show up in coastal waters of the region, making shellfish unsafe to eat. These algae have a little–known cousin that's bad news for salmon.
