Improving Salmon & Steelhead Management

According to the National Marine Fisheries Service, 31 out of 52 salmon and steelhead populations in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and California are listed as either "threatened," "endangered," or "species of concern."

With factors like climate change and ocean acidification taking a toll on already fragile salmon runs, management of the resource must be more imaginative, scientific, and strategic than ever before.

Long Live the Kings helps create new science and management tools to help those who make decisions about salmon and steelhead-- the State of Washington, Northwest Indian Treaty Tribes, U.S. Fish and Wildlife, primarily -- be successful. Then we build the constituency and support necessary to ensure those tools are utilized.
