ARCHIVED EVENT - 2007 CHAIRMANS COUNCIL LUNCHEON
ON THE LINE: The Question of Selective Fisheries
Long Live the Kings’ Chairman’s Council Luncheon
October 24, 2007
The Palace Ballroom, Seattle
How can we fish on an endangered species? Why do I have to go to Alaska to fish on salmon? What is the difference between a hatchery fish and a wild fish? What is meant by “selective fisheries?”
These are some of the tough questions addressed by the expert panel assembled by LLTK for our 2007 Chairman’s Council event, On the Line: The Question of Selective Fisheries. The event, held to honor those supporters who donate to the organization at $1,000 and above annually, brought together some of the most important thinkers, decision-makers, and scientists impacting salmon recovery and sustainable fishing in the Northwest. Their frank discussion was moderated by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Hedrick Smith. To view a photo gallery from the event, click here.
It is LLTK’s intent in 2008 to offer continued opportunities for our supporters to engage with some of the preeminent thinkers in salmon recovery and sustainable fisheries.
