	TOP STORY LLTK’s Lilliwaup Hatchery Damaged by Flooding Please Consider Making a Gift to Help With Repairs The fierce storm that hit western Washington earlier this month caused landslides and flash floods around Hood Canal, where LLTK operates its Lilliwaup Creek Hatchery. “This is dramatically worse than anything that’s happened here before,” Hatchery Manager Rick Endicott said. “During the storm, there was no power, no phone, no heat, and the road was impassable so no one could get here. The equipment was submerged in 3 feet of water,” Rick said. “All I had was a flashlight. I felt helpless.” Read the full report…

In each issue of the LLTK E-News, we introduce you to a remarkable staff or Board member, project partner, or donor. LLTK Board Member Jim Lichatowich has worked on Pacific salmon issues as a researcher, manager, and scientific advisor for 37 years. He specializes in the life history, ecology, status of Pacific salmon and the history of their management. Jim was formerly the Chief of Fisheries Research and Assistant Chief of Fisheries for the State of Oregon. He has served as a member of seven independent science panels studying issues related to Pacific salmon management and recovery. His award-winning 1999 book, Salmon Without Rivers, is a history of the Pacific salmon crisis. In addition to serving on the LLTK Board, Jim has worked with groups such as the Oregon Business Council, Portland General Electric, Oregon Trout, The Native Fish Society, The North Umpqua Foundation, Ecotrust, The Wilderness Society, Pacific Rivers Council, Trout Unlimited, and Northwest Indian Tribes.
